PSALM is a grass roots organization founded in 1999 by a group of Orthodox musicians from various dioceses and jurisdictions, born out of the desire to bring together those charged with preparing and leading the music of the Church, including choir directors, singers, readers, and clergy, so that they can learn from each other and grow in their ministry by sharing resources and information. As PSALM has grown, its scope and vision have broadened to include the development of resources and programs that will support and augment the efforts of the various diocesan music departments.

VISION STATEMENT

PSALM will promote the highest quality of musical worship within the tradition of the Orthodox Church by providing educational opportunities and musical resources for a growing and mutually supportive community of those who actively participate in or support the music ministry of the Church.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of PSALM is to build a community of Orthodox church musicians, clergy, and others interested in Orthodox sacred music, in order to support each other’s musical and spiritual growth through interaction and the sharing of knowledge and resources.
