Job Description:
Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral, the see cathedral of His Eminence, Archbishop Job of Chicago and the Diocese of the Midwest, is conducting a search for a part-time choir director. Duties include serving as the cathedral's primary choir director, conducting rehearsals, reading, and cantoring, primarily in English but with some Church Slavonic. Familiarity with the Church's liturgical services is important.
Salary, which will range between $15,000.00 and $16,000.00 per year, will be based on educational and professional experience.

What is the normal schedule of services for your parish? Is the director required to be at all of them?
We normally have Vigil on Saturday evenings and on the eve of the Great Feasts, Vespers and Lityia for the minor feasts; Divine Liturgy on Sunday and the feasts at 9:30 am. Saturday Vigil is at 4:30 pm, other evening services at 7:00 pm. We would expect the choir director to be at the major liturgical services. Funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc., would not be required. |
