The PSALM Liturgical Music Resource
The Submission and Review Process
- All submissions to the Liturgical Music Resource must be made electronically; this means that the person making the submission must:
- Log in on the PSALM Website and submit an index entry by filling out the appropriate required fields in the submission form
- Attach the submission in the form of a PDF file generated from a music typesetting program or a scan of a hard copy (at a resolution: 300 x 300 dpi)
- Upon submission, each index entry will be verified by a member of the PSALM LMR Editorial Staff for accuracy.
- Accompanying PDF files will be routed for review to one or several members of the Editorial Review Committee, which includes a number of distinguished liturgical composers, scholars, and performers, acting as consultants to the LMR Editorial Staff. Wherever possible, submissions will be routed to those reviewers having particular expertise in the style of music under consideration (e.g. Byzantine chant, Russian-style choral polyphony, etc.) Wherever possible, the anonymity of both the submitter and the reviewers will be preserved to ensure maximum objectivity.
- Within a three-month period, each submission will
- Be approved for posting, whereupon the appropriate contract will be issued
- Be returned to the submitter with the reviewers’ comments
- Upon receipt of a completed contract, the submission will be made accessible to users of the website.
