PSALM
2003 Annual Meeting
Administration and Staffing Committee (ASC) Report
The primary task of PSALMs administration and staffing committee (ASC) to date has been to ponder, design, and propose an organizational structure of greater strength and stability to address the ways in which PSALM is growing and expanding organizationally. The ASCs proposal, currently in its final editorial stages, will consist of two components: 1. An organizational chart accounting for PSALMs directors, officers, staff, and committees, and 2. A list of the various roles and responsibilities, from the Board of Directors to Project Coordinators, that comprise PSALM.
The ASC, which consists of Mark Bailey (chair), Alice Hughes, and Vladimir Morosan, will bring the proposal to the board of directors for further discussion and approval. These discussions should facilitate the recruitment of new board members, which is one of PSALMs chief organizational priorities, and help to coordinate various projects and committees, as well as clarify the functional roles of the organization.

Nominating Committee Report
At the June 2003 meeting of the PSALM Board of Director, a nominating committee was appointed to facilitate the process of appointing or reappointing directors and officers to PSALMs administrative leadership. On behalf of the board, the nominating committee will gather the names of those who have been proposed to serve as members of the board and/or as officers (including those who have independently expressed interest in such service). The committee will then confirm the qualifications and interests of those people, and recommend a slate to the board for their consideration and approval. The nominating committee will not handle committee members, chairs, and project volunteers of any sort, nor will it deal with paid staff.
The nominating committee consists of three members: Mark Bailey (chair pro tem), Anne Schoepp, and Carol Wetmore.
